Atmosphere — She’s Enough

In honor of Atmosphere‘s tour starting today, here is one of my favorite cuts off of their new album, The Family Sign (released this past April).  The wildly popular duo from Minnesota–comprised of rapper Slug and DJ/Producer Ant–are really talented and one of my favorite hip hop groups.  The midwestern spirit resonates loudly with all of Atmosphere’s music and if you’re from the midwest, you already know what that means.  I was actually fortunate to have seen Atmosphere perform at Lollapalooza and they killed it.  I’m hoping to catch them again when they perform in Madison, WI on 9.13.11 as a part of their The Family Vacation Tour.  Oh yeah, and Babu’s boy Prof will be there, as well.

Prof – On My Way

“Cause that’s in the past and it’s a brand new day”

Everyone knows the midwest is known for keepin’ it real. No? Well at least in the hip-hop scene out there. Prof is an interesting blend of hip hop and blues, which makes for an awesome sound. A lot of people say he sounds like a mix between Atmosphere and Brother Ali. I’d have to agree. Keep your eye on this fool . . . he knows wussup. Here’s a link to his profile/more of his music: Prof
